After 10 years practicing civil rights and poverty law, Martha is currently in private practice focusing on civil rights, False Claims Act litigation, health law, and general consumer-focused areas of law. She attended law school at Saint Louis University where she also received a Master of Public Health, and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Natural Resources Planning from Washington University in St. Louis. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri, admitted to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, certified to appear before EOIR, and trained in mediation. She has a hard time narrowing down her interests, and has a passion for reading self-help books, cycling, hiking, gardening poorly, and swimming with sharks in the annual Alcatraz Sharkfest race in the San Francisco Bay.
